Our very first guest speaker was an award winning photographer named Rashaun Rucker . Rucker is an NCCU alumnus, it was interesting listening to his experience at the university. He dealt with a lot things that students are dealing with now as far as not knowing what they want to pursue in life or how to go about doing it. Rucker pursued his passion for photography and has succeeded. While he was a student he started out as the Staff photographer and Photography editor with Campus Echo (NCCU’s Campus paper) who at the time did not even have tools that were up to par. Since then Rashaun has won plenty of awards for his craft and is now working for the Detroit Free Press. Listening to Rucker encouraged me to pursue my passion without any fears. I also have new found respect for photographers because it is hard to do the work that they do so peace to all the photographers!
